International Polar Bear Day

International Polar Bear Day

Polar bears are fuzzy and majestic beasts that roam through the cold arctic ice, live in the Arctic areas of the Northern Hemisphere, which are being threatened by loss of sea ice from global climate change.

Polar bears rely on sea ice to hunt seals, breed, and sometimes den. We can see a dramatic decline in polar bear numbers by mid-century if we do not greatly reduce the use of fossil fuels for our energy needs, and instead shift to renewables.

Polar Bears in two-thirds of the planetwould be gone by 2050, and scientists estimate that the bears may be extinct by 2100.

To honor POLAR BEAR and show our concern for them, our Art Department organized a Drawing and Slogan Writing Event in which students of Classes V, IX, and XII expressed their worries in the form of beautiful, message giving badges. The students badged each other. In another RHYME IT OUT Activity poems were composed by a few students. Overall the event was very exciting and students learnt a lot in the process.
