COMFEST 2018

Day 0:

The first day of this four day extravaganza starts off with a one of its kind event ‘CF Halloween’ in which the participants recreated spooky haunted arenas adorned with their imagination and creativity. The mega event was a four hour affair where the teams got an opportunity to interact with each other and familiarize with the fest.

CF Halloween followed by the much anticipated and awaited Entertainment Evening, where the Chief Guest for the evening was Brigadier Naveen Singh. The Entertainment Evening will have the eminent Indian singer, composer, actor and entrepreneur, Arjun Kanungo who has won the GIMA Award for the best debut in 2015. His party numbers have garnered massive appreciation online. This act surely set the atmosphere just right to usher into the next three days with enthusiasm at its peak and lift the spirits of the participants after the day’s hard work.

Day 1:

Day one of Comfest 18 started with the festival’s opening ceremony, presided over by the Chief Guest Mr Chetan Chauhan. At present, he is the Appointed Special invitee member of National Working Committee of the Bhartiya Janta Party has won the Arjun Award in 1981 from Government of India for proficiency in sports. Shri Shishir Jaipuria Ji encouraged the JCC with his inspirational words.

Day 1 marked the beginning of all the competitive events from ‘Tech Talk’ to ‘IT Quest’ and the ‘Season Begins’. It also featured a display of “Flamethrower”, a Robot made by the students of Seth Anandram Jaipuria School during Robowars, an event where teams create robots to fight against each other. The host school had prepared two arenas for the robo race and the robo fight respectively which features many obstructions like slopes, ramps, choppers etc. The event ‘Graffiti’ also took place this day, which featured one of the largest Graffiti in the nation. The main highlights of the day were the seminars conducted by ‘Niine’ ‘Allen house’ and ‘ISDI parsons’.

Day 2:

Day 2 of Comfest 18 had a number of competitions which took place beginning with ‘Junk’s the Punk’ , the treasure hunt where all the teams were required to find and solve clues to qualify to the next level, where they were required to make a model from Junk material. ‘Tech Talk’, ‘Tee Splash’, ‘The Season Begins’ and ‘Wiz Pro’ are some of the other events which took place on this day. The day also featured the crowd pleaser ‘JAM on HAM’ ,an extempore competition which was witnessed by all present as participants tried to speak on a random topic for half a minute in the preliminary round and for one minute in the final round. The day saw amazing events like ‘Lost in Rendition’, ‘Picsel’, ‘Pencil Brains’ and many more that challenged the participants in the spheres of Photography, Creativity and Literature. The day ended with an entertainment program featuring the school rock band, ’Etherea’ that elevated the atmosphere as the participants prepared for what day 3 had in store for them.

Day 3:

Day three, the final day of Comfest 18 commenced with the finals of ‘IT Quest’. Following this was the finals for ‘Tech Talk’ where the final two teams battled it out in a heated debating session where one emerged victorious. The finals of ’The Season Begins’ also took place where one participant was declared as the best gamer of Comfest 18. These events were followed by the final leg of the entire festival, the closing ceremony of which was presided over by Mr. Satish Mahana who is an Indian politician and Minister of Industrial Development in the Government of Uttar Pradesh. He is seven time MLA from Kanpur Cantt and currently representing Maharajpur constituency of Kanpur. He presented the prizes of the winning teams. In the end, the JAIPURIA COMPUTER CLUB members were felicitated wherein they shared all the nostalgic moments and memories of the festival, raising the bar yet again.
