REPORT ON EARTH DAY

Earth Day 2022 was marked by a grand and series of celebrations at Seth Anandram Jaipuria School , Kanpur on the 22nd of April ’22 . The event was conducted both online and offline. It commenced with the morning assembly, conducted by the students of Class V C, where the importance of preserving Earth was explained to the students through an enactment .

Different activities were conducted by different classes.
Pre-Primary cherubs were dressed in vibrant blue and green colored dresses for the occasion. Activities like hand printing and sponge dabbing were performed by the students. Saplings were planted in the earthern pots by the children, which were later returned to them as takeaways. A special assembly was also conducted by the Pre primary students in the Junior Assembly hall.

Students of Class I made paper bags and Class II students took to a cleanliness drive where they picked up all the dry leaves from the playground.
Students of Class III were given one sprouted seed each. They scattered the seeds randomly on the field area as a part of plantation drive.
Students of Class IV prepared collages using dry leaves, depicting their care and love for nature.

Class V got involved in germination activity using pulses and herbs. They prepared a collage where the different steps of germination were demonstrated. They also penned down their feelings for Mother Earth and at least one step that they would take to make this world a better place to live in . They also made a poster on Earth Day and were asked to upload the sheet on Wakelet.

A Virtual Earth Day celebration was organized by the Art Department. An Interschool Art Competition saw the participation of twenty five schools in various categories. Different events like Film Making (Classes 9th to 12th ) , Digital Art(Classes 9th to 12th ), Photography( two categories- Classes 6th to 8th and 9th to 12th ) , Poster Making (Classes 1 to 12 ), Craft(Junior School) and a Plantation Drive was conducted. The students of our school also prepared paintings and a video was also made of the same. The chief guest for the event was our revered Principal, Mrs. Shikha Banerjee. All the winners were awarded Digital Certificates.
