LA MARTINIERE MODEL UNITED NATIONS

Jaipuria MUN Club is known for its proficient and knowledgeable MUNners, and keeping in line with that, 10 students from the club participated in the prestigious La Martiniere Model United Nations Conference, 2017, held from the 3rd to the 5th of November and won laurels in the same. 

La Martiniere Model United Nations is one of the largest MUNs in the state. It is known far and wide for its delegates in terms of quantity and quality. This year it witnessed experienced delegates, over 600 in number, hailing from prestigious schools in Calcutta, Dehradun and Gwalior. 

Our students participated in various committees, ranging from conventional committees like the United Nations Security Council to unconventional ones, like the Ad-Hoc committee of the Secretary General. The committees explored various areas and issues of international politics, and were chaired by the most experienced MUNners from all across the nation. 

The team of 10 students from our school won 7 prizes in all. The students were:-

  • Suryansh Agarwal (United Nations Human Rights Council)- Verbal Mention 
  • Shlok Bhartiya (Ad-Hoc Committee of the Secretary General)- Special Mention 1

  • Divy Tandon (United Nations Security Council)- Special Mention 1 
  • Ishita Bhatia (United Nations Control On Population and Development)- Special Mention 3 
  • Devanshi Loomba (United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime)- Special Mention 1 
  • Vatsal Lahoti (United Nations General Assembly- Legal)- Special Mention 2

Our students were appreciated by all. LMUN 2017 was indeed an educationally enriching and academically stimulating experience for all.
