Defence Materials and Stores Research and Development
On May 10 2019 the Science students of Grade XI visited the Defence Materials and Stores Research and Development Establishment, Kanpur (DMSRDE) where they had the an opportunity to learn about defence equipments, machinery, and mechanism from learned professionals, who were actually involved in its development and testing. Not only were the students briefed about the applicability of such equipments but, they were also explained the functioning and construction of such advanced mechanisms. In view of the approaching National Technology Day 2019, the DMSRDE staff had specially organized this program for the students, where actual defence components (parts of artillery weapons, aircrafts, and navigation systems) were on display to be closely analyzed and understood.
This educational visit was an enriching experience for the students. Many of the students were particularly inspired by this visit to learn more about the defence research and development industry and to explore its various aspects, which is the ultimate goal of such an educational endeavour.
