MALAYSIA TRIP

The school had organised a trip to Malaysia – Kuala Lumpur. The students from Classes VIII to Class XII participated in the trip. A group of eighteen students and two teachers left for Kuala Lumpur from Delhi on 25^th March 2019.

DAY 1:

Reached Kuala Lumpur at around 2:30 in the afternoon. After the immigration formality we checked into the hotel. On our way to the hotel we passed through the well planned Cyber City. That day we rested in the hotel and visited the nearby local market.

DAY 2:

We boarded a bus to see the Batu caves. Batu Caves are located approximately 11 kilometres to the north of Kuala Lumpur. This 100-year-old temple features idols and statues erected inside the main caves and around it. From there we moved towards the Genting Highland. Genting Highlands was founded by Lim Goh Tong, who arrived at the shores of Malaysia from Fujian, in 1937. In the middle of 1971, Genting Highlands opened for business – the first Prime Minister of Malaysia Tunku Abdul Rahman. Today, Genting Highlands is one of the most popular highland tourist destinations in Malaysia, attracting visitors from Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and all over the world. We had a sumptuous buffet lunch at the coffee terrace. It included Malay food, Chinese food, Indian food, French food and many more.

DAY 3:

Students visited the Sunway Lagoon Theme Park. The theme park had over 90 attractions spread across 88 acres Sunway Lagoon provides the ultimate theme park experience in 6 adventure zones — Water Park, Amusement Park, Wildlife Park, Extreme Park, Scream Park & Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon– Asia’s 1st Nickelodeon Themed Land.

DAY 4:

We had a full day city tour of Kuala Lumpur. We first stopped at Istana Negara- the official residence of the monarch of Malaysia. We drove through the botanical garden. This garden houses a wide variety of flora and fauna. It even has some official complexes in it. We visited the Harriston Chocolate Boutique – there students learned how chocolate beans are converted into creamy chocolate. After Lunch we visited the two most iconic buildings of Malaysia the Petronas Tower and the KL Tower. Soaring to a height of 451.9 metres, the 88-storey twin structure is Kuala Lumpur’s crown jewel. The next stop was the KL tower. The KL Tower has become the symbol of KL, and you can spot it from anywhere in the city, as it is impressively 421 m tall. From the top, you have the best view of the KL skyline! Although the famous Petronas Towers is a taller building (451.9 m tall), the KL Tower gives you a higher viewpoint. KL Tower has the record of the tallest freestanding tower in the whole of Southeast Asia, and the seventh tallest in the world. It took eleven years to be built and was completed in 1995. We went up to the indoor Observation Deck at KL Tower, 276 m above the ground. The Observation Deck is an indoor deck with huge glass windows, located at 276 m above ground in the KL Tower. It is not as cool as the Sky Deck, but you still get a great view of Kuala Lumpur. We went to the China Town a small local market for shopping. There the students bought some souvenirs.

DAY 5:

We visited Putrajaya which is  Malaysia’s third and latest Federal Territory. Built on an expansive marshland and former oil palm estate in Selangor, the city spans an area of almost 5,000 hectares and lies 25 km from Kuala Lumpur. Putrajaya takes over the administrative functions of the capital city Kuala Lumpur and is a part of the Multimedia Super Corridor project of the Malaysian government.

DAY 6:

We visited the Barjaya Square – a shopping mall, and at a short distance from it on the opposite side is the Electronic Mall – this mall has hundreds of shops selling electronic items. It’s a treat for gadget freaks.

On the same day we took our flight back to India. With a lot of sweet memories.
