Dance to the Tune of Music with Mr. Ashwini Nigam
Our school invited a world-renowned, esteemed Kathak dancer, Mr. Ashwani Nigam on13 May 2022. He is a prime exponent of Indian culture and Kathak dance in Russia. A gifted kathak dancer and teacher, the founder of a leading dance school “Tarang”, Sir was kind enough to accept the invitation.
The students were thrilled to see his mesmerizing performance and later he translated an episode from the great epic, the Ramayana, through dance and music. He also explained that kathak dancers tell various stories through their hand movements and extensive footwork, their body movements and flexibility but most importantly through their facial expressions. Our students also performed in his presence and learnt a few exquisite mudras from him. It was a wonderful and spellbinding session, not only for the students but also for teachers.
